Hello! My name is Tamara and I am a 30 something year old mother of 3 beautiful children. How did that happen? Seems like just yesterday I thought people in their 20’s were old LOL.
I have my Early Childhood Education diploma from Centennial College and worked in a centre setting for 3 years. After having my second child I decided that I missed working with kids and wanted to be at home with my own children and that is how Tamara’s Tots Home Daycare started. It was a struggle in the first year, but now business is booming for me.
Home daycare is very different and very isolated compared to working in a centre. I have a great support group that I also help run called Child Care Providers Unite. It is a local group of home providers in Durham region that meet monthly to help each other keep current in our field. It is through this group that I made a connection with Carly who started Durham Region Daycare.
I am looking forward to expanding Durham Region Daycare and continue the success that Carly has started over the last couple of years.
